Here are some pics from the filming of 5x04. These are from the scenes of the team going to Penn station. The scenes I saw were
a) Walter drives up to the checkpoint
b) Walter gasses the checkpoint, the Observer and Loyalist fall and he goes into the checkpoint building
c) Olivia and Etta drive off in the car
d) Walter and Peter walk through Penn station with the bag, (CUT SECOND FROM THE END: the Loyalist runs after them)
e) the Loyalist gets the message on his phone
f) Peter and Walter come out in the midst of gunfire and jump into the car
g) the car pulls out with all four inside
h) the car screeches away with a crowd of observers and loyalists letting loose with gunfire in the background.
I missed the scene of Peter and Walter walking from the outside of the building to the inside. The end of the day was when they filmed the scenes in the basement and I didn't stay for that because you couldn't see anything anyway.
These signs are so cool! XD
I think Chiapetta happened to be the name of the director of that episode that week... (not sure though XD)
Here's the licence plate that was on the van, I guess in 2036, your insurance is done by barcode. I did try scanning it with an app but it doesn't scan. I looked at it closer, it looks like its a typical 3 of 9 barcode but it doesn't look like it had the proper leading and ending * character, which would make sure it NEVER scans! Its probably cut off anyway. XD How do I know this? I don't call myself a geek for nothing!
Here's what the observer side of the sign looked like, they only shot it from one side so it just had the regular signage on the opposite side.
They both have the word "Restaurant" but they seem to spell restaurant differently in observer language somehow... or its just not there... coffee is there though... I wonder if they only sell bean things. Talk about grabbing a quick coffee.
I don't think this gun was used by the main cast, but I think this was used by a guy off to the right for some reason, perhaps for some special effects purpose to create the gunshots that hit the car? (can't fully remember here, I just took a picture through the fence (we all watched from the other side of a fence so we were close but not in the way, perfect to watch from!)
Twitch twitch... and I at least got the bumper of the car in the picture (sadly I don't think I got one of the whole car after its transformation) I don't think the car is supposed to be what the bishop mobile looks like in the future, but regardless I think it actually IS the car. I'll confirm that with some fellow set watchers, the original car they used last year has the driver's seat vinyl half ripped out, it was SO old I didn't think it drove!
The checkpoint way after they had finished filming at it. Now I know what that thing beneath the window is. (the holographic gate post)
A little dark, but I wonder if the observer writing says anything different then the human writing! :)
Humans: RESTRICTED!
Observer: Eh, come on in, just don't let those pesky humans in underfoot.
lol
Highlights of the day for me:
After they wrapped the scene where the car screeches away with a crowd of observers and loyalists letting loose with gunfire in the background, everyone who watched that just spontaneously started clapping in appreciation. That is the first time I've seen that happen and man, after a complicated day of shooting and car leaping and gas masking and makeup and blocking people and acting out falling and twitching when you're practically blinded with makeup? Holy hell did they deserve it! Total kudos fringe film team! Wow!
Observers coming over to visit after we decided, yes, the grass in front of the film set IS as good as the beach and NO we don't care who's watching. If you go to filming in a bikini prepare to get observed - even by observers at checkpoints with zappy thingies in their hands.
Anyone who doesn't know what a movie sign for fringe looks like must wonder why there are so many "BELLY"'s in the direction the arrow points (three in a row)
Super nice director: "You're welcome to watch but can we please move past X point" (Wanted to make sure we wouldn't be in the background, and ruining what must have been a costly special effects shot)
S. came up from Seattle to see them film and I got to see an honest to God "Violet Sedan Chair" record. WOW! Thanks S!!!
Hanging out with my Fringies! :-)
Fringe love to all!

UPDATE Nov 16th 2012: More highlights...
There was something that when I posted this I knew I couldn't add because I hadn't seen it air yet. While we were inside the station, a group of set prep people for Once Upon A Time came by to scout out the location for THEIR filming on the NEXT day. The scene that aired is when Emma goes to the train station to get the stolen watches from a bike locker. There are normally no bike lockers there of course, but they brought in a bunch of them to do the scene. I think it aired a sunday or two ago. It was the episode on Emma's relationship with Henry's dad.
I bet the lockers might have been the exact same ones used in 4x01 where the female shapeshifter 2.0 pulls a typewriter out of them and starts communicating. Now I want to rewatch both! XD
Mwhaaha I totally forgot to mention... Bon Jovi was there! How silly of me to forget! It was totally him - if he was still in the 90's. Oh that hair! That leather jacket! how he made us girls swoooonnn!!!
...
Ok, it wasn't the real Bon Jovi... but you should have SEEN that guy! he was close enough! For us anyway. XD
